Property Tax Exemption

Florida provides a full homestead property tax exemption for veterans with a service-connected total disability. Deployed service members get an exemption proportional to days deployed outside the continental US.

Education / Tuition Waiver

Florida waives undergraduate tuition at state universities, Florida College System institutions, and career/technical centers for veterans awarded a Purple Heart or higher combat decoration. Dependents (spouse/children 16-22) of veterans who are 100% P&T, died of service-connected causes, or are POW/MIA also get tuition and fees covered.

Hunting & Fishing License

Florida resident veterans with a service-connected disability of 50% or more get a free hunting and fishing license; 100% disabled veterans get a free 5-year license. Disabled veterans also get a free lifetime pass to all 175 Florida State Parks.
